trusts and caching

Hi, suppose i have domains A and B. Windows 2008 R2. Two way trust between both. There is one link between both domains (let's say one domain is on a ship). If the link between both domains is broken, is there some caching which still enables authentication against both domains (one will certainly work)? Thx!
