no_client_site in netlogon.log

Hi,

in a single Forest Single Domain env,

1. only one site is configured under AD sites and configuration with 2 DCs . This site has only the DC subnet mapped.

2.Default-first-site-name exists and not renamed.. No DCs associated

3.Defaultsitelink exists. Site link configured between existing and a new site (see step 5)

4.No other subnets are defined.  All clients from any subnet  are able to authenticate and event viewer doesnt log any error and netlogon.log file doesnt show No_client_site error.

5.when a new AD site(second site) was created and associated couple of  subnets, the netlogon.log file started populating with no_client_site for all clients from the subnets not configured.  Event viewer showed this event id 5807. when this new site was created no DC existed in this new Site.

6.Applications(SCCM) pointing to Default-first-site-name failed.

7.Removed the subnet mapping  done in step 5.  Things worked as usual and netlogon.log file didnt show any further no_client_site mapped error.   Event viewer didnt show too.

As there is no subnets defined, the netlogon.log should have always be getting populated with no_client_site errors..  Any idea why this was not the case in above situation?anything missed?

its very tough to get all subnet list... we wanted to keep activating new sites and DCs without any impact to existing services.
