group nesting

Just wanted to run this by someone to see if this would be a bad idea or if there were some gotchas I might not be thinking about.

This is all due to a migration from a 2000 mixed mode domain to a 2008 R2 domain. The domain is not large (~500 users). The trust is established

We are using NetApp for CIFS, the thinking is to create local groups on the NetApp and assign permissions to those local groups. Create Domain Local groups in the target domain (2k8 R2) and add users from the source\target domains to this group then nest this group in the local NetApp group.

Any thoughts?
