I have a single server running Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter x64. The hard drive in it has been clicking and causing problems, and i've had errors in the event log telling me that my hard drive is going out. I Bought a replacement Enterprise hard drive from Western Digital to replace the one that is going out.
So the issue is that even if i was putting the same operating system back on the new hard drive, i dont know how to migrate the information over. I have a storage drive in the server that i'm using to back things up, and it also serves as the server storage drive on the network so all the users can access the same data in the same place. I've looked up tutorials and every single one that I can find always points to adding a server to an existing server, but that I cannot do. I only have 1 server, and a replacement hard drive.
Is it possible to move a 2008 R2 Datacenter x64 AD UC to a 2012 Datacenter x64 installation in this way?
