Hi,
I am trying to set up RDS and User Rights to RemoteApps displayed in RDWeb. The server is a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit. It is a dedicated remote leased Web Server from HostGator. It is currently NOT a member of a domain. I have been advised that because the on-board NIC has a Public IP address assigned, that I should not install AD DS on this server.
When I try to assign user rights in Remote App Manager I am told that the RD Session Host server needs to be part of a domain.
It was suggested in another forum that I may want to use AD LDS to accomplish this task.
So my question again is, can I create a domain environment with AD LDS only? Such that I can then create Users and Groups that will be recognized by RemoteApp Manager to assign rights?
Thank you to anyone who responds.
