active directory logon is too slow after DR drill

Hi all ,

After DR drill ,We are facing the slow response from DCs during active directory logon from client machines in production site .

In my environment , we are having two active directory sites (i.e production and DR site ) .

 Production site

Domain Name : XYZ.com

server1 - PDC with  GC

server 2-ADC with GC

Subnet for production clients - 172.22.100.0

DR Site :

server3 - ADC with GC

Subnet for DR clients -  192.168.50.27

Last time we have done a mock DR drill in our environment by powering off only the domain controllers and exchange severs in the production site .Wan link between the production and dr site was remain as it is .

After DR drill ,  i have faced some of the problems ,which is mentioned below .

1. when anyone of the user tries to login by using their AD account on anyone of the client pc which is on the production subnet is taking too much of time to get authenticated with active directory .

Please share me any ideas to make the logon authentication to be as fast.

2.Do i need to change the primary dns server as the DR site active directory server in all the clients which is available in the production site ? If so please tell me is there is any automated process available to achieve the change apart from DHCP server.Because here we are using the static ip addresses for most of the clients .

Thanks
