AD LDS, No such object. Possibly your specified Search Base is invalid

We have a Windows 2008 R2 AD LDS directory set up replacing an old Sun Directory. We have anonymous access configured.

We are using Outlook 2010 to search an LDAP Address book. The Settings are correct and results can be obtained from the directory as expected. However when we search for objects that don't exist then we get a popup box

"No such object. Possibly your specified Search Base is invalid." Followed by "Your Search yielded no results". Is this pop up message by design? and can this be disabled at all?

In the Windows 2003 version of Active Directory Application Mode we never got the "No such object. Possibly your specified Search Base is invalid." pop up. So we weren't expecting it to occur in the new version.

Thanks in Advance.
