We are transitioning to AD2008r2 from 2003. I am bringing new 2008r2s online, moving rolls and services over, and demoting the 2003DCs.
It all seems pretty simple so far. We have sharepoint 2010 and exchange 2010. and other than that nothing too fancy.
I do a syststate of one or more dcs in each domain (we have an empty forest root and one child domain)
What are the risks of doing the forest/domain/gp preps?
If I run a prep command and it fails I can troubleshoot it but what kinds of things could break if I do this (group policies for example?)
Or should I just suck it up and do it..
