I have a AD domain with 4 AD servers running on W8K R2. One of the servers is holding all the FSMO roles and all servers are in the same site. Also 3 of the servers are VMs and one is a physical server.
The problem I have is that the network has one DC which no longer exists but there are traces of it in the network for example it is still showing in the Sites and Services. Also there are a few read-only DC was also do not exist but they are still visible in the either Sites and and Services or DNS. I would like to know what is the clean way I can remove these DCs for my AD network and also test the integrity of the AD network to ensure no other stale DCs exist and also configure the Sites and Services, Replicate, etc so that it is water tight.
