I have 2 2008 R2 DCs installed on a VM LAB , on the same subnet
DC1:With AD Integrated DNS
Replication set to all DNS servers running on DCs in this domain.
Zone Transfers set to Only Servers listed on Name Servers Tab
Name Servers Tab includes both DC1 and DC2.
DC2:with a secondary zone for DC1 (should also mention DC2 is DC1's replica)
Zone updates takes way longer than it should , i have configured DC1.
Problem is:
Zone changes update takes ages to appear on either sides , sometimes faster on DC1 , some times i have to force replicate.
Now when i set Notify on DC1 and point to the server Names list , nothing much happens , but when i specify the notification to DC2 only instead of pointing to the Server Names list , the updates are almost immediate.(again server names list include both DC1 and DC2)
i wonder why is that odd behavior?
