Hello, I have an issue that I believe requires a non-authoritative restore, but I'm having issues finding the required msDFSR-enabled= attribute under ADSIedit.msc.
I built two new domain controllers for a client, who put one into production and let the other one sit offline for more than the tombstone lifetime... now he's put the second DC at a remote site, but is throwing errors:
Log Name: DFS Replication
Source: DFSR
Date:
Event ID: 4012
Task Category: None
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
The DFS Replication service stopped replication on the folder with the following local
path: C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain. This server has been disconnected from other partners for 133 days, which is longer than the time allowed by the MaxOfflineTimeInDays parameter (60). DFS Replication considers the data in this folder to be stale, and this
server will not replicate the folder until this error is corrected.
I'm curious if:
1.) changing the tombstone temporarily would resolve this issue
2.) why can't I see the "msDSFR-enabled=" under adsiedit (on the server that has expired)
TIA
