I have one Domain Controller running 2008 R2 that is consuming large amounts of disk space. Within the NTDS directory I have over 11,000 log flies (Edbxxxxx). They are dating back over a year. This is consuming over 110GB of disk space and the server is crawling!
According to what I am reading, these log files should not exist other than temp files and are supposed to be purged once writes are make to AD.
Any suggestions on how to purge these files in a safe manner? Disk is almost full and I would like to save the DC.
