We are currently deploying websense mail security to one of our client. They would want to test the capability of websense by sending a spam or test virus but did not want to try to it to their prod network. They have two domains as they have just migrated: domain1.com -new domain and domain2.com -old domain. Both domain have exchange servers and two mx records named:
New domain - smtp.domain1.com (primary) , mail.domain1.com(secondary) both pointing to new exchange servers
old domain - smtp.domain2.com (primary) pointing to new domain exchange server , mail.domain2.com(secondary) pointing to old exchange server.
They want us to send the test virus to the mail.domain2.com wihout changing the priorty of the two mx records on domain2.
Would it be possible to create host record for mail.domain2.com on our domain (vendor.com) and send email with test virus to user@domain2.com that will be sent to the secondary mx which is mail.domain2.com.?
any suggestion is highly appreciated.
