DFS-N Namespace server P2V

We have a DFS-N configuration with three Windows 2003R2 Enterprise physical servers as namespace servers. 1 server is on site A while the other 2 servers are on site B. We are planning to do P2V of DFS-N namespace servers at Site B but since the network bandwidth to do P2V is really slow we are planning to decommission the physical servers and re-introduce the same hostname/IP address as virtual machines and re-add them as DFS-N namespace servers. Here are the questions that I have:-
1. Site A has Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise server as DFS-N namespace server. In Site B we would like to remove both Windows 2003R2 DFS-N namespace servers and add new Windows 2008R2 DFS-N namespace servers but with the same name and Ip address the old physical servers had. So my first question is whether this is possible or not to have a combination of both Windows Server 2003R2 and Windows 2008R2 DFS-N namespace servers.

2. My second question is what is the proper method of removing DFS-N namespace servers from the network and re-introduce with same name and IP address? Should we just remove the DFS-N namespace server from the DFS Management console and wait for AD Replication to occur and can re-introduce DFS-N namespace server with same name/IP address or there is something more that we need to do?
