I'm currently working on my MCSA and was experimenting with a new W2K8 domain controller. Before promoting it to a DC the same server was sharing files to a couple of different users. After promoting to a DC, those files are still accessible even though their computers are not registered within the DC.
Am I mistaking one of the many purposes of a DC? I don't want the users to be able to use peer-to-peer file sharing to that server. I want them to have to log into the domain and be registered with it.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
