Hi All,
I've got a test network with following setup:
1. DC on Server 2012 with DNS and all FSMO roles
2. DC on Server Core 2012, no additional roles installed.
3. Server 2012 with no additional roles installed
4. Server 2012 R2 Preview with no additional roles installed
5. Windows 8 Enterprise PC.
First two servers are working fine, no errors etc. On 3, 4 and 5, after adding all to the domain (with no issue), they cannot communicate with the domain, reporting no logon servers available. I've restarted all machines many times now, flushed DNS cache on both server and clients, tried turning off Windows Firewall, to no avail. I am unable to ping or RDP to 3,4,5 from any DC (I was able to do both before joining to the domain), but I can manage them through Server Manager and Powershell, also with Computer Management, as long as I use IP rather than hostname.
From 3,4,5 I am able to ping both DCs via IP addresses, but not via hostnames. I also can connect to DNS server via nslookup tool. Also, when trying to ping any external host (google.com), it resolves without any problems. In addition, when browsing via Windows Explorer to servers 1,2 I can see the shares, but only when browsing via IP addresses.
I strongly suspect issue with DNS and/or authentication, but can see no errors in Event Logs. Any ideas?
Many thanks,
Kamila
