Our internal domain and external domain are the same, example.com. Our developers maintain an external DNS server for all of they domain needs, which are many - with regular changes. Whenever the developers update the external DNS they have to put in a request for us to make the same change internally. This slows down testing and development.
We'd like the internal DNS to pull records from the external DNS server for all external domain entries. Is there a way to reconfigured DNS to pull DNS entries from a server outside the domain without having to add all the internal DNS entries to the external server?
This would be simple if our internal domain were example.local and external were example.com. Is there anyway to achieve this without changing the domain name?
