Hi
We are running AD 2003/2008 Domain Controllers. Our physical site in Paris is spread out over Paris (buildings located in two locations) but in terms of AD Sites and Services, it's one AD site, composed of two DC's.
We have these physical sites for Paris:
ParisCentral: DC is PCDC1
ParisWest: DC is PWDC1
If I look in AD Sites and Services > Paris, and check the NTDS settings of each DC, I see that PCDC1 has a "Connection" (Replication?) partner of PWDC1 and also BEDC1 (a DC in the Berlin AD site). However, PWDC1 only has a Connection partner with PCDC1.
What does this mean exactly? If PCDC1 was to go down, then PWDC1 would not be able to communicate with the rest of the domain? How long until the KCC automatically realises PCDC1 is down and adds another DC as a replication partner?
