Get-ADUser -Identity $aduser.SamAccountName -Properties * not showing all properties/attributes

I am trying to get some custom attributes created for the users earlier by powershell, but I am not able to query them:

Get-ADUser -Identity $aduser.SamAccountName -Properties *

I can view and manage them by ADSIedit but not through powershell. Is there something I am missing.
