Hi,
This is my first time posting a question; I've always found these forums to be very helpful but this time I didn't find a thread that asked the same question.
I administer a single domain with two sites. The sites have a persistent fiber connection.
Site A has two DC's- one 2008 R2 and one 2003 R2. Both are GC and DNS servers. The 2008 R2 server handles the FSMO roles.
Site B has one DC- 2003 R2. It's a GC and DNS server.
I want to replace the DC at site B. Can I just set up the new 2008 R2 Server, promote it, verify replication, demote and power off the old server, and then do the AD sites and services cleanup? Also, should I consider making this new DC a RODC?
Thank you very much for any suggestions.
