LDIFDE is not great tool to export members and their group attributes because it simply does not allow it seems.
Maybe Powershell would be my best bet, but I could not find articles that guide me in the right direction.
What I am attempting is this :
Export Contacts,Users and their Group Membership (meaning Groups as well) from 2003 AD with xyz.com domain for example to a second server on a separate network (different ISP) with again same domain name xyz.com but running 2008 AD.
So far using LDIFDE i was able to export the Contacts but without their group membership, I am not worried about passwords or when an account was created but the critical bit for me is exporting a user/contact and retaining its group membership.
Any assistance will be appreciated.
PS: ADMT tool will not work, I believe of that to work you have to be on same network + the new DC should have different domain name as well.
