We are running 2 Exchange 2010 servers in my company.
Issue: I have Contacts that are created in Active Directory(with their email address included as a property) and then placed in a Distribution Group. The group is emailed to alert the contacts of changes to certain projects. This process has been setup and running for over 2 years without any problems that we know of. However, recently we have had some Contacts complaining they have not been getting any email notifications. After making sure email addresses were correct, yada, yada, I began to look for any problems. Here is what I have found. When using Active Dir Users and Computers (ADU&C) I can successfully resolve/add this Contact to the Distribution Group. However, if I go to the Exchange Management Console, go to the group, and try to add the Contact there it cannot find the Contact in the Directory. I can add other contacts, user, etc. But there is at least one Contact that I cannot add by going thru Exchange Mgmt Console. It simply cannot find that contact in the Directory. If I add the Contact in ADU&C it will then show up in the member tab of the group in Exchange Mgmt Console.
So basically I have at least one Contact that I cannot email thru a Distribution Group and it cannot be found/resolved when using Exchange Mgmt Console, but it can be found when using ADU&C.
Someone please give some help with this issue. I have never seen anything like this. thanks
