Got a bit of a dilemma and was hoping for some advice.
I need to Raise the Domain and Forest functional levels on our European domain. All is good with the initial checks for example there are no Synchronization errors and DCDIAG is error free. All our Domain controllers are W2012 R2 bar for one which is W2008 R2. So my plan was to raise to W2008 R2.
However, I have read that we should be checking applications that exist on our Domain for compatibility. The problem I have is we have in excess of tens if not hundreds of Applications on the domain and there is no record of any of them. Some of the applications are of high importance as they are manufacturing applications. We have office 365 in the cloud.
My question is how/who/what do I check for compatibility? I have looked at some of the Server attributes in ADUC and ADSI Edit but cant make "Head or Tails" out of what I need to check.
Is there anyone that has come across this type of problem before. More to the point how did you get around it?
Obviously more concerned about the Applications and what to check.
