I have recently promoted a virtual Windows Server 2012 R2 member server to become a Domain Controller.
Its an additional DC in an existing domain... (have done this many times before) pretty simple stuff, and after the process had completed all looks good.
Replication is all happy/healthy and my various checks show that all is as expected.
However (even following a reboot) the Server Manager > Dashboard still shows:-
"Post-deployment Configuration - Additional steps are required to make this machine a domain controller"
And clicking on the flag I still have the option to "Promote this server to a domain controller"
This has obviously already been done, so not sure why this warning has not been cleared (as usually happens without issue).
Is there a registry key I can delete to prevent this (already completed) task from flagging?
