Hi Everyone,
We have a single 2011 SBS Server running Exchange, Web and Remote Outlook/Web Desktop. It is the DC since it is the only one we have.
For some reason the server got ridiculously slow. At first we suspected hardware. After changing the router, network adapter, etc, etc. we knew it wasn;'t hardware. We finally narrowed it down to something with DNS and the Windows Firewall.
So...here is what happens. I go to the Windows Firewall, open the section"Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall" Navigate to the DNSsection and uncheck the Domain box, the network/server is normal with blazing internet and network speed. However, when I do this the Website and Outlook Web access stops working. I also have thePublic box checked but that does not seem to affect anything. As soon as I check the Domain box everything works but the network again comes to a crawl. I have looked at EVERYTHING in my DNS and cannot find anything that would cause this. Driving me nuts.
Anybody else seen this problem?
