Hi, if this has been covered in another thread sorry in advance since I didn't find it.
I am about to restore a Site to Site VPN link (been down for months) to a remote site with many production servers (SQL and web). There are 2 Windows 2008 DCs at each location and I am concerned about how replication will effect user accounts and other AD objects. I am assuming since they have been operating as individual sites for so long the versionIDs of changes are no longer even remotely close and the more active location will win out. Do I let things replicate automatically and it figures itself out? Do I pick one site over the other and manually start replication from that site? If I have to restore anything from a system state backup using ntdsutil will it get overwritten again? Can/should I backup AD configuration data another way?
