Problem removing lingering objects

I am getting replication error 1988 so I am attempting to fix it with the repadmin /removelingeringobjects command. Here is my 1988 error:

Source DC (Transport-specific network address): c3f32f0e-7eb8-4d5e-a9da-f18ae3931bd7._msdcs.domain.com 
Object: DC=50\0ADEL:80d39a4e-2502-425b-ab85-ccbea79eb100,CN=Deleted Objects,DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=domain,DC=com

So the command I am running is 

C:\Program Files\Support Tools>repadmin /removelingeringobjects SERVERNAME c3f32f0e-7eb8-4d5e-a9da-f18ae3931bd7 DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=domain,DC=com

That command runs successfully but the in the event viewer on the target DC it says 0 objects were removed and I continue to get the same 1988. I've tried it without the DomainDnsZones, with Deleted Objects, and can't seem to get it to work.
