I have an environment where all DCs can communicate with each other. I have site connections created with the appropriate costs and it is really a hub and spoke design. So site A has connections to B,C, and D and the slowest connection is 50mb. I know that with BASL enabled, B can communicate directly to D, but would that be the recommended configuration for a hub and spoke with complete connectivity? I just want to be sure
I am thinking that the only time that B would want to even communicate with D directly would be when repadmin /syncall commands are run, but when else would it matter? My concern is that if the DC in site B goes down, that the clients all know to authenticate and use DFS namespaces in site A, which they should no matter what the cost is on that site link, because it is the only one. Is that correct?
I have read several links, but still not 100%
