2008 R2 and 2012 DC Upgrade

Hi Team,

Suggestions are needed.

We have 2008 R2 physical box DC and 2008 R2 ADC VM. We recently moved all FSMO roles to ADC server.

Now are planning to upgrade a 2008 R2 to 2012 R2 OS. We are going to format physical box completely and install 2012 R2 and promote as domain controller. Later we will transfer all FSMO roles again to Physical box.

Plans we have

Going to shutdown physical box and observe for a week.

Remove metadata of a DC

Install a 2012 R2 OS and promote as DC.

Observe for a week and move the roles again.

Suggestion Need

I want to retain same IP address and What are all things I have to before shutdown or reinstall of the physical server?

Are plans are OK or not, I have a doubt.
