Hi Following is the infastructure of my network
root domain: abc.com
DC+DNS - Server 2008 R2 (physical)
DC+DNS - Server 2008 R2 (virtual)
DC+DNS+DHCP - Server 2003 (virtual)
child domain: college.abc.com
DC+DNS - Server 2008 R2 (physical)
DC+DNS - Server 2008 R2 (virtual)
DC+DNS - Server 2003 (virtual)
child domain: school.abc.com
DC+DNS - Server 2008 R2 (physical)
DC+DNS - Server 2008 R2 (virtual)
DC+DNS - Server 2003 (physical)
DC+DNS - Server 2003 (physical)
Domain function level is Windows Server 2003
I also have separate Exchange 2010 server, MS SQL 2008 database serverand few IIS servers. All the virtual servers are hosted in 3 xHyper-V Server 2008 r2.
These Server 2003 DC has some sort of bespoke softwares installed that doesnt works on Server 2008/12. I have no clue why my predecessor has installed it on the DC and there is no documentation/support to migrate to separate Server 2003 member server. I have to keep these Server 2003 DC until school decides to move on from this bespoke software.
Will there be any problem or any complications if I add a virtual Server 2012 DC to each domain ? This 2012 DC will be serving DNS aswell.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.
