Windows Server 2012 R2 can not be promoted as domain controller in TLD name "invalid". You may check my post "Promote Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard to DC: Error The domain DNS name has an invalid format" in this forum (I can not insert link).
TLD name "invalid" is not incorrect name by Microsoft KB909264.
