Hi,
Have a small network with a Windows 2008 r2 server with a few file shares and business app running on it. It is also a DC. But while looking into a backup problem, I see that there is another 2003 SBS server that holds FSMO roles. I found that server and it seems to work but was taken offline almost a year ago. So I assume that SBS server should not be allowed back on the network with the existing 2008 server, but how complex is the process to seize the FSMO and cleanup the AD data?
To add more excitement to the problem, cannot backup the System State with Windows Svr Backup or wbadmin - that is what I was hoping to get working before I found the missing DC problem. Thanks
