Active Directory migration

Hi

I am running Windows 2012R OS with Windows 2012R forest and domain level. Domain controllers are also the DNS servers for our environment.

The environment is one forest, one domain, 4 domain controllers.

I am planning to migrate the domain controllers (without downtime) onto the new servers but want to keep the same names and IP addresses of the domain controllers. Below is my plan which I don't know if it will work:

Domain controllers are A, B, C and D.

1. Build additional 4 new domain controllers in the environment and join them to the existing domain.

2. Transfer FSMO and schema to one of the new DC so this DC becomes primary DC.

3. Demote the OLD domain controller A and shut it down.

4. Change the IP address and host name of the NEW domain controller A (This domain controller will have the same IP address and hostname as the OLD domain controller A).

5. Repeat step 3-4 for the rest of 3 domain controllers B, C and D.

Will above process work?
