I have a couple of question with regards to enabling Active Directory recycle bin. In my environment we have a forest root domain and also a child domain. Both domains are on the 2008 R2 domain functional level and the forest functional level has also been raised to 2008 R2. When enabling AD recycle bin, do I only enable this on the root domain or do I also have to do so on the child domain? The documentation specifies that enterprise admin permissions are require, so I am assuming that this will also enable AD recycle bin on the child domain due to the permissions that are required.
Another of my questions deals with AD LDS instances. We have many VMware products that run their own AD LDS instances. if I enable AD recycle bin. do I also have to update the schema of these instances before doing so or will these instances be isolated from this upgrade? That is, do I have to update the schema for all these instances or is this only required if I want each of these individual instances to support AD recycle bin. Thank you all for your time.
