I had two domain controlers. S1 (PDC) - Windows 2000 Server and S2 - Windows 2003 Server. Some months ago I moved PDC role to S2 (I thought I moved). S1 was disconnected, S2 worked lonely and all seemed to be OK.
Two days ago I had to shutdown S2. After startup I have lost my AD. When I log to S2 via RD, I can see my AD (users , computers etc), but
- DHCP is not authorized in domain and I cannot autorize it,
- when I try to manage my domain there appears a message: "Naming location cannot be located for the following reason: The server is not operational" (the same messege appears in other places),
- domain users cannot log to their workstations,
- while creating new domain user there is a message:
""Windows cannot verify that the user name is unique because the following error occurred while contacting the global catalog:
The server is not operational.
Windows will create this user account, but the user can log on only after the user name is verified to be unique.Make sure the global
catalog is available. For more information about troubleshooting this issue, see windows help."
What can I do now to fix my problems?
