i have two ADFS servers (1 primary and the other secondary) configured which is using windows load balancer. the sts IP address is the IP configured on the load balancer.
Here is the situation. If i power on all the servers and leave ADFS1 off,some servers wont be able to connect to the ADFS webpage even though they can ping sts.Same with ADFS2 but everything works fine when both ADFS servers are working properly.
But if both ADFS servers are online together and either of them fails, it does not affect connectivity to the adfs webpage.
i thought the idea of failover and using a load balancer is to protect against downtime. Is the 1st situation normal.
