Kindly help.
In one our location, clients receive their network configuration from a DHCP server.
All works fine until the primary DNS server IP is changed to an IP of a newly promoted Domain controller who is also a DNS server.(Active directory integrated zone). This is done because the new dc is a local DC for that site.
The moment clients receive the DHCP configuration with the new DC DNS IP
immediately some of the clients are not working as in loosing network connectivity. and ping response shows transmit failure.
I'm at loss to understand how this change could impact the network connectivity of these clients.
DHCP eventlogs show no error. No related eventlogs are visible at clients end. Also no DNS configured at the switch level.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
