Unable to establish a connection with the global catalog

Hello,

I'm having trouble with my Test Lab Domain Controllers after migration.

I transferred all FSMO roles from my DC01 to DC02, demoted my DC01 and removed it from network.

The new DC01 was setup on a new VM and was promoted as domain controller. The FSMO roles wheretransferred back to my new DC01 and Global Catalog was activated for DC01.

After one hour i started migration for DC02 but unfortunately i just deleted the VM for reinstall and did no dcpromo.

Now it seems that my Global Catalog is not working properly. I tried to fix it by doing a metadata cleanup for the DC02 but still he same.

- The Option Global Catalog is enabled for DC01 in Sites & Services

- I'm getting Event ID 1126 (Active Directory Domain Services was unable to establish a connection with the global catalog. )

- The isGlobalCatalogReady Attribute is set to False

- The Option Attribute for NTDS Setting is set to 1

- The SRV entries for _gc in DNS are missing. I tried to set them manually but doesn't help.

- I can't add a second DC to my domain because dcpromo fails with "A domain controller could not be contacted for the domain that contained an account for this computer. Access is denied" I only can do a domain join for this computer.

- nltest /server:serverName /dsgetdc:domainName /gc /forcefails with "Getting DC name failed: Status = 1355 0x54b ERROR_NO_SUCH_DOMAIN."

Is there a chance to repair the Global Catalog
